To celebrate International Dog Day, we spoke with friends who are living with their dogs in two different countries.Today, we’re introducing Daniel, who lives in Berlin, and his furry companion Jusepe.We had the chance to hear from Daniel about his daily life with Jusepe, as well as his thoughts on home and the objects he surrounds himself with.We hope that reading this, along with adorable glimpses of Jusepe, brings a smile to your face. Life with Your Dog FMH: 아침에 일어나면 반려견이 가장 먼저 무엇을 하나요?What is the first thing your dog does in the morning? Daniel: 침대 위로 올라와서 저를 바라보며 제가 반응할 때까지 기다려요. 가끔은 제가 아직 자는 척하기도 하지만, 사실 대부분은 그런 식으로 아침에 깨는 게 좋아요.He jumps on my bed, looks at me, and waits until I react. Sometimes I pretend I’m still asleep, but most of the time that’s exactly how I want to be woken up in the morning. FMH: 누가 먼저 일어나나요, 당신인가요, 아님 주세페?Who wakes up first, you or your dog? Daniel: 주세페가 보통 먼저 일어나요. 저를 깨워놓고는 바로 다시 자러 가요.Jusepe usually wakes up first. He wakes me up just to go back to sleep right after. FMH: 너무 귀엽네요. 주세페가 집에서 가장 좋아하는 장소는 어디인가요?So cute. What is your dog’s favorite spot in the house? Daniel: 거실에 있는 가죽 소파랑, 아마 침대도 좋아하는 것 같아요. 다만 밤에는 제 침대에서 자는 걸 별로 안 좋아해요.The leather couch in my living room, and probably the bed as well. Although, he usually doesn’t like to sleep in my bed at night. FMH: 당신이 식사하는 동안 주세페는 보통 무엇을 하나요?What does your dog usually do while you are eating? Daniel: 제가 뭘 먹느냐에 따라 다르지만, 보통은 크게 신경 쓰지 않아요.대신 달걀이나 생선에는 엄청 집착하는데, 전형적인 스패니시 워터 도그의 특징이죠.It depends on what I’m eating, but he usually doesn’t really care. However, he’s very obsessed with eggs and fish – classic Spanish Water Dog behavior. FMH: 식탁 앞에서 주세페는 어떤 편인가요?Does your dog have a “table personality”? Daniel: 이것도 제 접시에 뭐가 있느냐에 따라 달라요. 하지만 전반적으로는 꽤 까다로운 편이에요.It really depends on what’s on my plate. But generally, he’s actually a very picky eater. Your Everyday Life FMH: 집에서 가장 좋아하는 조용한 순간은 언제인가요?What is your favorite quiet moment at home? Daniel: 아침이에요. 일찍 일어나서 한두 시간 정도 온전히 혼자만의 시간을 보내는 게 좋아요.Mornings – waking up early and having one or two hours just to myself. FMH: 오 좋네요. 어떤 요소가 집을 따뜻하고 편안하게 만든다고 생각하나요?Nice. What makes a home feel warm or comfortable to you? Daniel: 아마 가구, 벽에 걸린 그림들, 그리고 오랜 시간 동안 모아온 작은 소품들인 것 같아요.Probably my furniture, the art on my walls, and the little knick-knacks I’ve collected over the years. Little Objects & AtmosphereFMH: 집 안에 미소 짓게 만드는 작은 물건들이 있나요?Are there small objects in your home that make you smile? Daniel: FMH 스푼 홀더를 정말 좋아해요. 그런 종류의 물건들이 제 집에 많은데, 작은 동물 모형들, 주로 강아지나 말 같은 것들이에요.I really like the FMH Spoon Holder, and things like that are exactly what I have in my home, small animal figures, mostly dogs and horses. FMH: 실용적인 것과 아름다운 것 중에 어떤 것을 선호하시나요? , 아니면 둘 다?Do you like things that are useful, beautiful, or both? Daniel: 아름다운 걸 좋아하긴 하지만, 기능이 먼저라고 생각해요. 좋은 디자인은 눈에도 즐겁지만, 용도가 없다면 조금 쓸모없다고 느껴요.I would say beautiful things, but function comes first. Good design is usually very pleasing to the eye, but if it doesn’t serve a purpose, I think it’s kind of useless. Daniel: 그렇지는 않은 것 같아요. 하지만 솔직히 말하면, 가끔은 저랑 같이 식탁에 앉아서 평범하게 저녁을 먹을 수 있으면 좋겠다고 생각해요.얘는 식사를 즐긴다기보다 그냥 가능한 한 빨리 흡입하듯 먹어버리거든요, 하하.I wouldn’t say so. But honestly, I sometimes wish he could just sit with me and have a normal dinner at the table. He doesn’t really enjoy his meals – he just hoovers them up as fast as possible, haha.
